The Cannibals - Can't Seem To Make You Mine - Rehearsal 1982

This is a basement recording from December 1982, with Mike McCann and Johnny "Mother" Johnson on guitars, Dave Heard on Bass, Gary on Drums and Mike Spenser is the singer. It's from a VHS recording so the sound is crap, but it's a lot of fun to see anyway. I think I threw those horrible jeans in the rubbish when I cleared out Mike's apartment... The striped guitar might still be around.

I found this message this morning in my FB inbox. It's from Mike Spenser (Cannibals frontman):


Mike introduced me to the music that was to change my life and my career. It was one day will visiting his home in Eltham, SE London, that Mike played for me his amazing collection of 60's garage records. Until then I had only known of the classic well known hits like "Sometimes Good Guys Don"t Wear White". But because of Mike's enthusiasm to the more obscure tracks from that fabulous era I got totally immersed in the sound which drastically changed the sound of the Cannibals.

Miss you...

Mike's father just passed away. They both died the same way strangely enough. The lungs stopped working. Rest in peace Harry!
